The Brasbonitas® amaryllis bulbs are cultivated in Brazil. Cultivation in their natural environment guarantees top quality. We use the very latest cultivation techniques and are open to new developments. This goes much further than merely economic aspects, since environmental and social issues also form an important part of our corporate vision. We contribute to maintaining a liveable environment for our children our grandchildren and ourselves. Our many years of experience allow us to cultivate a product that meets all the present and future requirements of the consumer, and to supply an appropriate range of distinctive varieties
Natural beauty
The entire process from planting to harvesting is carried out with the utmost care. Our years of experience and wide-ranging knowledge of cultivation techniques contribute to produce healthy, strong bulbs with excellent resistance to diseases.
As well as these positive characteristics, growing the bulbs in the Southern Hemisphere has another distinct advantage. The bulbs are harvested early, giving plenty of time to prepare them properly for the market. You, the customer, will also benefit, as you will be able to put the potted amaryllises on sale in the early autumn. Get the best from the Brazilian sun.
Creation
Product innovation is all about looking to the future. We can divide product innovation into two parts: breeding and multiplying. We look at least ten years ahead when breeding new strains and varieties. We need to breed new varieties to keep in step with the market and be ready for new developments.
We are part of the Amaryl group, consisting of a number of professional amaryllis growers who work together intensively to breed and cultivate new varieties. Before a variety is introduced in the market, it is carefully assessed in terms of quality, growing characteristics, resistance to disease and preparation. Only after a testing period of about 2 years will we decide whether or not to introduce the variety on the market. The highly successful Ferrari is a good example of an Amaryl variety.
We are also very active in researching new techniques for multiplying bulbs. To continue growing a quality product, we impose stringent requirements on innovating and refining the parent stock.
