Creation
Product innovation is all about looking to the future. We can divide product innovation into two parts: breeding and multiplying. We look at least ten years ahead when breeding new strains and varieties. We need to breed new varieties to keep in step with the market and be ready for new developments.
We work closely with a number of gladiolus breeders. Before a variety is introduced in the market, it is carefully assessed in terms of quality, growing characteristics, resistance to disease and preparation. Only after a testing period of about 2 years will we decide whether or not to introduce the variety on the market. To continue growing a quality product, we impose stringent requirements on innovating and refining the parent stock.
